Thanks, guys for the posts, I combined a few things that you proposed and seemed that it helps.
*Hide toolbar
*Disabled libraries
*Restart sketchI know that this approach doesn't work for all, but I am working and a huge material library and before it was an absolute nightmare(always the beach ball appears), after those things, everything becomes better.
Or maybe the update 52.3 fixed the problem ))

Couldn't agree more. This issue has been persisting for the past 3 releases. Started with 52 and still going on with 52.3!!
Wonder if the Sketch team is even bothered about this!

Sketch 51.3 seems to be working much better, plugin are still enabled. Sketch cache flushed.
Sketch 52.3 with the same file repeating the same operations (resizing groups, go deep into the group with ENTER and then out again pressing ESC, text field editing) is extremely laggy.Mac Pro latest Mojave rebooted multiple times. CPU GPU barely used.

Same here, it is very slow! I get the spinning wheel quite often, specially in undo and moving elements with the arrow keys.
In addition, here sketch mirror does not update the screens correctly, it updates just for some minutes and later it freezes. I have to kill the app and start again to update the current screen. THis is driving me crazy!!
This issues were happening before I updated to Mojave, so I don't believe the OS is the problem.
Have the same problem. macOS High Sierra + Sketch 52.3.. It is a nightmare.

I managed to (partially) solve my problem. I say partially as it seems that Sketch 52.3 is little bit slower than older version, but the main problem is gone.
What I did:
Deleted libraries.
Deleted Anima pluginI think the main culprit was the Anima plugin.
Also what is interesting is that Sketch in safe mode was also laggy the same as in normal mode.

I noticed Google's Material libraries increase memory usage over time.
Restarting Sketch from time to time helps.Theres a new Beta that adresses performance issues:

What you should do is to install app cleaner and uninstall Sketch with it, as well as other problematic apps you have.
After that you can download and install new Sketch. Sketch v 52.4 just released today. I did the update, performance is 50% better but I wouldn't say the problem is fixed .

Yeah, so used sketch 52.4 for a whole day yesterday and things are better but still not as fast as Sketch 51. Capture one pro 11 3 0 26 download free.
52.4 fixed a number of bugs. Thanks Sketch team. But still seeing performance slow down and memory leak is still very much present. Sketch is using 10.7 GB of memory after a few hours of use.
Not using a lot of plugins, except the indispensable Anima auto layout. Shout out to them for introducing padding and nested symbol padding support .

PLUGINS: Anima, Artboard Manager, Symbol Organizer52.4 fixed some bugs related to files. It happened to me and Sketch used over 6GB or RAM.
Now it's using 2GB at most.
Have you tried using Sketch without Anima to see if that's the leak?
If using it without plugins you still see issues, file a bug. - edited November 2018

I had the same problem: Sketch was crazy slow when moving/scrolling through the document, zooming, and getting measurements to show. Disabling the Anima plugin worked for me, and now Sketch is a bit faster. I had a trial account with them, perhaps Anima slows you down until you buy a full version of the plugin?
